Myers led Central Arkansas in nine batting categories over the weekend. She batted .563 with a .938 slugging percentage, collecting multiple hits in four of the Bears’ five games on the weekend. In Saturday’s contest against LIU Brooklyn, the senior shortstop recorded a home run and two doubles with four RBIS. She finished the week with nine hits and six RBIs to go along with three doubles. She also had a .632 on base percentage. This is the second hitting award for the Bears and first weekly award for UIW this season. Leal earned the win for all three of UIW’s victories at the Madeira Beach Showcase this past weekend. She tied a career-high when she fired six strikeouts against Villanova on Friday in a complete-game effort. She also tossed a complete game in a 3-2 win against Alabama State on Saturday. The senior from Kyle, Texas, started Sunday’s game against Eastern Michigan and gave up just three earned runs, striking out three in her five innings of work.
