Shubhankar cards 10-over 81 to lie tied 117th at Andalucia Masters

first_img Press Trust Of India WATCH US LIVE COMMENT WE RECOMMEND Shubhankar Sharma’s poor run continued as he shot a horrendous 10-over 81 amidst brutal weather conditions in the opening round of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters where only five golfers broke par. With five bogeys, a double bogey and a triple bogey, it was one of Sharma’s worst rounds of the year. The Indian golfer was tied 117th and the cut is likely to fall around four or five over at one of the toughest courses in Europe which also faced blustery conditions and firm greens.Connor Syme finished his opening round with a flourish to share the early clubhouse lead on two-under par 69. He finished his round with three birdies in a row from the 16th hole. He was joined at the top by Spaniard Jorge Campillo, Guido Migliozzi of Italy and American John Catlin. Spain’s Pep Angles sits one stroke back on one-under par, while six golfers share sixth place with 71, including last week’s ISPS Handa UK winner Rasmus Hjgaard. The run in 2020 has been Sharma’s worst in his young career, as he has missed eight cuts in 10 starts outside India. He finished T-59 in Abu Dhabi and T63 in Celtic Classic.  It was a tale of two nines for Scotsman Syme, who turned in 37 after sandwiching the only birdie of his front nine between a double bogey and a bogey, before firing birdies at the 12th, 16th, 17th and 18th to sign for a 69. Spaniard Campillo had co-led for much of the morning after making three birdies and no bogeys on the front nine. He dropped his first shot of the day at the 13th but bounced back with a long putt for birdie on the 14th before narrowly missing his ambitious birdie try from 55 feet at the next.  He found the water on the long 17th and narrowly missed his par putt to return to two under and saved a fine par on 18th. Like Syme, Campillo also came into this week with top ten finishes in his last two events and he is happy with how he is playing. Image credits: AP 4 days ago IPL 2020: ‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma smashes bowlers during training, Mumbai Indians post pics LIVE TV Written By First Published: 4th September, 2020 13:50 ISTcenter_img SUBSCRIBE TO US 4 days ago Kapil Sharma is “forced” to interview Bharti Singh in this hilarious BTS video 4 days ago Nia Sharma and Vikram Singh Chauhan send warm birthday wishes to Aditi Sharma FOLLOW US 4 days ago NCW chief Rekha Sharma, who was 1st to flag ‘Gunjan Saxena’, reacts to its legal trouble 6 days ago Ishant Sharma turns 32: How MS Dhoni convinced pacer to bowl bouncers in 2014 Lord’s Test Last Updated: 4th September, 2020 13:50 IST Shubhankar Cards 10-over 81 To Lie Tied 117th At Andalucia Masters Shubhankar’s poor run continued as he shot a 10-over 81 amidst brutal weather conditions in the opening round of the Estrella Damm N.A. EveryMatrix: Sports titles drive huge esports betting growth

first_img Submit StumbleUpon ESI Digital – No Drama Please… Esports growth should be treated as business as usual  August 20, 2020 SBC Magazine Issue 10: Kaizen Gaming rebrand and focus for William Hill CEO August 25, 2020 Share Share MoneyMatrix boosts wire transfer options by integrating Klarna’s Sofort August 24, 2020 Related Articles The 40% growth in esports betting volume between 9 March and 19 April was fuelled by two sports-based esports titles, FIFA and NBA 2K, which accounted for 80% of the total. That was one of the key findings from The State of Esports Betting Report 2020, launched this morning by B2B provider EveryMatrix to “empower bookmakers with up-to-date insights on how esports can become an enduring growth strategy”.The report estimated that total wagers for esports could reach between $12 and $15 billion by the end of 2020, up from just over $5.5 billion in 2016. It said that in just one week (9 March to 16 March), the share of esports players climbed from 2% to 27%.Digging deeper into the impact of the live sports absence, the report found that 65% of active bettors between 17 February and 9 March had stopped placing bets in the lockdown period of 16 March to 6 April. Using the same dates, 10% of players who were real sports bettors before have made the transition to being esports bettors. And, still sticking to the those two three-week periods, the average player turnover for real sports has dropped from €930 to €733 – a median slide of €67 to €45. Meanwhile, average turnover per player for esports is up from €159 to €473 – a median climb of €8 to €29. The average gross gaming revenues (GGR) per player for esports is now €31, up from €13.Within all of this, sports-based titles are playing an increasingly prominent role because users familiar with regular sports can easily switch to the new form of entertainment. There are also clear similarities to popular bet types on both traditional sports and esports titles. The report found that 76% of FIFA turnover was for Over/Under markets, while more than half of the turnover for NBA 2K (52%) can be attributed to Asian Handicap betting. While the report stressed that sports organisations were no strangers to esports before the pandemic, it has brought about an increase in tournaments and leagues backed by official bodies – for example the NBA 2K Players Tournament.Ebbe Groes, Group CEO of EveryMatrix, said: “The last eight weeks were quite dramatic. Esports entered the scene with a bang, from being a niche or small sub-segment of sports betting without receiving many considerations from operators, to being today a very large part of the offering available on the market.“Operators who already had esports or who were able to integrate them quickly, are ultimately the ones making the most out of the current lack of real-life sports events. The ones who were not so agile, are unfortunately seeing massive losses.”However, he concluded: “It is not too late to jump on the esports bandwagon, especially since predictions show that betting on esports is here to stay. Ultimately, the aim is to maximize sportsbook revenue and diversify the offering.”To download your FREE copy of ‘The State of Esports Betting Report 2020’, click HERE.last_img read more

COMMENT: Basena should be applauded and developed

first_imgWe must remember how many wanted Micho sacked after the semi-final loss to Tanzania in his first CECAFA of 2013 in Mombasa and failure to qualify to 2015 AFCON and later U23 elimination by Mozambique. Any coach needs time to establish himself and get judged.Moses Basena had never been appointed as head coach but was interim and it is based on his performance that FUFA has evaluated him to be the first beneficiary of the 10 Ugandan Coaches to be selected for the accelerated*FUFA Elite Coaches Programme in the USA.We believe with this programme, we will soon have Ugandans competing for National Team jobs not only in Uganda but the entire AfricaFrom FUFA to Moses it is Gracias, Merci, Obrigado, Asante, WebaleIt is Our Game, It is Our Country*******Moses Magogo is the FUFA PRESIDENTShare on: WhatsApp Uganda’s head coach Moses Basena takes part in a training session with his players at Borg al-Arab Stadium near Alexandria, on September 4, 2017, on the eve of their World Cup 2018 Africa qualifier football match against Egypt.COMMENT | Moses Magogo | FUFA and the entire football industry applauds coach Moses Basena for having accepted to take charge of the Uganda Cranes at the sudden departure of Milutin Sredojević aka Micho. The job of head coach of the Uganda Cranes is one of the five hottest seats in Uganda, and, while we can all coach from a distance, it is another thing to sit in there.Moses undertook a job with full commitment and in our evaluation as FUFA he did a commendable job in the circumstances in the little provided time. We have been encouraged by the development and results obtained in the 2018 CHAN qualification, 2018 World Cup Qualifiers and 2017 CECAFA.It is not common to find a Ugandan coach of the personal character of Moses. He is confident, eloquent, principled, direct, religious and yearning to learn moreOf course there seems to be more critics of Moses’ output because of the usual less detailed analysis of the objectives set, the long term plan and the status of the players.Moses qualified the Uganda team to CHAN, had a historic performance beating Egypt and also had a descent performance against Egypt and Congo away. It was definitely a bad day in office against Ghana in Namboole like we all have.CECAFA is always a trial tournament for Uganda where many players are left out to try new ones. We can’t try players and dominate at the same time.Despite being available, Walusumbi, Okwi, Jjuko, Mugerwa, and Shaban were all left out of CECAFA to provide starting room for the first timers Madoi, Bakaki, Senkatuka, Kawesa, Awany, Sadam Juma and Kyambadde.Magogo (right) and basenaBeing eliminated at the semi-final by a very improved yet Uganda’s long time boggy side Zanzibar with such a lean trial squad was not as bad as it is being made.last_img read more

A Day in Downtown Olympia

first_imgAbout the Author: Amy Evans is the Proprietress of Bon Lemon, a traveling jewelry and accessories boutique.  She loves calendars, charitable giving, 90’s country, dungeness crab legs, anything sparkly, goats, and spreadsheets.  She can be reached at [email protected] Facebook60Tweet0Pin0Submitted by: Amy E.If you are looking for a girl’s day out, need to do some back to school shopping, or just want a few downtown tips, here are some ideas for a great day in downtown Olympia. On your way downtown, stop at your requisite coffee shop.  We won’t even try to tell you which one, because there are so many good ones and everybody has their favorite.  But you will need your strength, so make sure you are well nourished (and caffeinated) before heading out.The first stop is Compass Rose.  Compass Rose is chock full of things you knew you wanted (Le Creuset cookware, clever books, to-die-for earrings) and an abundance of things you never knew you needed (vegan handbags, Moleskine notebooks, buttery soft baby blankets).  Compass Rose combines great style with a commitment to its employees and the community.  They are a perfect example of why we should all be shopping local. After you have found the perfect gift at Compass Rose and had it wrapped up all pretty (complimentary gift wrapping!), head across the street to Bartel’s to pick up a snappy shirt for your husband/father/luva.  Bartel’s is known for their old-fashioned service and suit tailoring, but what you might not know is they carry a darn good selection of hip shirts, pants, and shoes for the modern man in your life.  On trend and stylish.  No need to go to Seattle for designer denim. Now it’s girl time! Across the street from Bartel’s is Sweet Life.  (If you need another coffee or a num-num, Batdorf and Bronson is right next door, and Tasty Morsels is right around the corner.)  Sweet Life caters to the young (or young at heart) and has everything you need to stay trendy.  Their pink walls, welcoming staff, and fabulous decor will make you feel right at home.  Pick up a Tarina Tarantino necklace or Free People tunic and you will be the envy of all of your friends.Just up the street is not-to-be-missed Jinjor.  The owner of Jinjor spent many years in Nordstrom’s lingerie department, and she knows her stuff.  If you are looking for quality undergarments with the right fit, there is nowhere better in town.  They also have a great assortment of frocks for your next charity auction/wedding/date night.  Yoana Baraschi, Trina Turk, and Butter by Nadia to name a few.  Tres chic!By now, you must be getting hungry.  Double back for lunch at Acqua Via.  It has a an urban feel and exceptional light, regardless of the season.  They have wonderful salads and paninis, but you simply must get the Creme of Artichoke Soup.  A cup, a bowl, or the whole dang pot.  Order it.  Along with something sparkling.  You can thank me later. Now that you have updated your wardrobe and filled your belly, it is time to move onto home decorating.  There are two perfectly complimentary home decor stores just down the street from one another.  They allow you to play with high-low, just like the designers do.  The first is Red Door Interiors.  They have a great collection of new and renewed home decor items from chairs to poker sets.  Everything is well priced and fun.  Their RD Shady interchangeable lamp shades (patent pending) are brilliant.  Because the lamp shade covers can be zipped on and off the lamp, these interchangeable shades allow you to update your look without spending a fortune (the mantra at Red Door).  They are just getting going, but are planning a full launch for October.  I predict the ladies at Red Door are going to be famous.  (And they are so nice!)The last stop on the shopping route is Drees.  Drees is an Olympia institution.  Everything from Simon Pearce glassware to Crane stationery to a mohair couch to lovely hostess soaps.  You can pop in for a sweet gift or a whole new house.  If you are looking for a bargain, head to Marshall’s, but if you are looking for service and a beautifully curated collection, Drees is not to be missed.Whew!  After all that, you probably need a cocktail.  Head over to The Mark for the Hustle  (sweet tea vodka, organic black jasmine green tea, and organic maple syrup) with some manchego cheese and grilled bread.  If you have time, stay for dinner.  Get the locally raised steak and goat cheese salad.  Again, trust me.  You won’t be sorry.Hopefully, you will be heading downtown again tomorrow, because we only covered two blocks.  There is so much more to see!  Vivala, Hot Toddy, Matter… The list goes one.  Christmas shopping is just around the corner…last_img read more
